Ashley is stressed. Three jobs, a relationship that she is uncertain about and worrying about a loan approval for a new home; it is an understatement to say that she has a lot on her mind. Too much, in fact, as she begins to feel lightheaded, and the passes out, to fall to the floor of her own apartment. Luckily for her, her boyfriend was coming by to see her. When he finds her unconscious on the floor, he runs to her side. Checking her for injury, he finds that she is not breathing and that she doesn’t have a pulse. Quickly, he begins CPR. After a few rounds of rescue breaths and chest compressions, he remembers that the unconscious person shouldn’t have restrictive clothing on. He removes her high-heeled shoes, her dark skirt, her white blouse and bra, leaving her only in a pair of tight, sheer pantyhose. He continues to tip her head back, breathing into her mouth, and pressing on her chest, causing her full, round breasts to bounce and sway.

Suddenly, she coughs, her back arching as she gasps in deep breaths of air. Both of them aware of how close she had come to death, them embrace, grateful for the precious gift of life. Glad to be alive and thankful for the quick action that her boyfriend took to save her, she has a rare moment of clarity regarding her true feelings for him. She tells him in no uncertain terms that, while she is profoundly grateful to him, that she doesn’t want to live with him. Outraged that she should not want to deepen their relationship, and take the next logical step of cohabitation, he lashes out at her. Grabbing her head, he twists it, hard and quick, snapping her fragile neck, snuffing out the life he had just saved. He storms off, leaving her dead body half-naked and lying on the floor, a discarded part of his life that he will never see again

The phone falls in the tub and Ashley sinks down, the water covering her nose and mouth, bubbles of air rising, as her face becomes completely submerged. As the water fills her lungs, it takes a few seconds for her survival instincts to kick in. There is a sudden thrashing of limbs, a hand rises and tries to grip the side of the tub, but she has already inhaled too much water and she falls unconscious, face down in the shallow water. Luckily, her friend did call 911 and an EMT rushes in. Thinking quickly, the man pulls Ashley from the tub and begins to perform CPR. Puffing air into her mouth to fill her lungs with air and pushing on her chest in a desperate attempt to get her heart beating, he pauses to check for a pulse, before starting the process again. After several unsuccessful around of manual resuscitation, he reaches for his EMT bag to charge up the defibrillator. Placing the paddles on her chest, he shouts “Clear!” and discharges 200 joules into the unconscious woman, causing her back to arch, her limbs to go rigid from the electricity flowing through her.

When that produces no response, he turns the charge up to 300j, repeating the process, but there is still no effect. Going all the way to 360j, the man says a silent prayer, knowing that he is in a race against time, for this lovely woman’s life. He presses the paddles hard against her body, pushing the button to send one last charge through her, in a mad race to restart her circulation. Her body convulses and spasms from the high voltage, but afterwards remains unmoving, unbreathing. The EMT has been around long enough to know a lost cause when he sees one. A bathtub may seem innocuous, but combined with exhaustion and intoxication, it can prove just as lethal as any ocean. Now she’s just one more statistic, as the man records the beautiful woman’s time of death and contacts the county coroner’s office to pick one up for the morgue.
