While she readsg, the actual killer stands behind her and attacks the moment she is finished. He viciously strangles her with a thin garrote. She is tough and fights extremely hard — kicking and trying to twist free. The struggle goes on for quite a while as the lawyer, unaware, continues her shower. When she is finally dead — tongue protruding and eyes open — he places a new poem on the bed.

The lawyer finishes her shower. In the bedroom she finds her glasses, puts them on and slowly realized something is wrong. Now seeing the dead bodyguard and petrified with fear, she moves around her bed to get a better view of the room. She sees the poem and on some bizarre impulse, reads it aloud. It seems to mirror her situation, but before she can finish he double wraps a stocking around her soft neck and proceed to strangle the life out of her while she maintains an upright position against him. Finally, when her dead body is leaning against him, he touches her lightly on the shoulder and she falls forward — floppy as a rag doll. He admires her body and leaves her sprawled on the bed, her dead bodyguard looking on.
