After she is viewed and we relive the events that caused her death, the detective arrives. He walks up on the scene with his case, containing everything he needs to examine her in the field and get some photos. He sees what he has and gloves up, grabbing the thermometer and taking mental notes.

He sees the wide bruising on her neck, and the positioning of the body and deemed her as being dumped, not placed, giving the notion that the killer did not kill her because he wanted her sexually, but she was a bystander, or witness to a specific murder, most likely the second victim that was just found minutes after this Jane Doe.
